  2.  @PurePain_1  People have fell 36,000 feet from planes and survived, in fact some dude jumped from the edge of space and fell around 100,000 feet and survived so there are clearly exceptions.

It does, damage to the head/brain, even mild damage like a concussion puts you in fight or flight initially until you can get a handle on the situation, when you get an unexpected smack over the head it could be because something fell off a high shelf or it could be a home invader, your brain instinctively prepares for the latter.

  5. Indeed, depending on the posture they either have a 1 in 3 chance of survival or 1 in 10, so those "No one was harmed" captions are usually just window dressing.

  6.  @johnm3907  It doesn't have to be made up, depression is a real thing, I'm just annoyed that as usual they are crediting God/Jesus with turning their life around rather than the support of the people around them who showed them how precious life is.

The next time some idiot conspiracy theorist tells you that aluminium planes could never penetrate steel and concrete buildings ask them how lead bullets from a rifle can penetrate steel and concrete. Aluminium and lead are both soft malleable metals but put enough velocity behind them and they will punch a hole in obsidian.

  8. A high-powered rifle yeah, but a standard assault rifle will still leave entry and exit wounds. Shotguns do far more damage to the noggin, any good gore site can show you that.

Seen far too many headshots on gore sites, in South America killers have this odd tendency to record their crimes on their phones for all to see, but the one that sticks with me happened in the US. It was a rotund black fella in the front seat of a car making some sort of gangster video when the lady sitting next to him picked his gun up off the console and fired it into his forehead before running away. I think the video is so memorable because of the noise this chap made after receiving the messy hole in his head, it was a sort of "Nurrrr" like the noise Skeletor makes.
