  9.  @Imperial_Squid  When people die from commensal bacteria the hospital tends to not worry about the source since it could be literally anything a person has touched or even from their own body flora, the hospital just worries why an otherwise healthy person died from something the human body fights off every day. That is the more dangerous of the two, not the harmless bacteria that killed them, but the deadly agent that sapped their immune system beforehand.

The Box jellyfish, which is one of the smallest at only a few centimetres in size, is one of the most venomous creatures in existence, up there with the Blue-ringed octopus, which is equally diminutive - both can kill you within 10 mins.

This guy should have placed cushions under the three legs touching the floor so that if one leg had to endure more pressure than the others it would be absorbed.

US law is based on statutes so there's no way a single lawyer can memorise the tens of thousands of verdicts from 240 years of US court cases and that is why there are specialisations like traffic, homicide, agriculture, narcotics, maritime, etc, whereas UK law is based on acts of parliament whereby a ruling is voted on by the government and becomes set in stone and can't then be interpreted differently from one judge to the next. Meaning a lot less to remember.

  26. It's the same over here in the UK, when you are asked to exit the vehicle it is not actually a request. I'm not sure why they did it but the lawyer and the cop in that video are actors from a performance group called Seaside Follies, her name being Penelope McDonald, my only guess is that he and her belong to that SovCit nonsense and either think they are correct about the law or have no problem misleading people about the law. But you could tell how fake it is, neither of them can act to save themselves, no cop would demean someone immediately by calling them "little miss know-it-all" - particularly not one of our notoriously polite UK cops, and lastly any Karen/SovCit would never in a million years have a camera nearby and not want to get the cops face on video - the very first thing they would do is try to get the "fascist" on camera for all their idiot viewers...

There are many reasons, one being that all humans initially make noise to get attention and males just got it programmed out of us early on by the "boys don't cry so toughen up" mentality in our society. Another is that throughout history a solo female's main defence mechanism was getting help rather than tackling danger like a solo male might so their instinct is still to make noise when in danger and seek help. Another still is related to attracting males, women want to be protected, men want to be protectors, ergo they subconsciously exagerate how scared they really are to seem vulnerable and worthy of protecting - if you want to know if a girl likes you watch a scary movie with her. There are many more reasons still, almost all of them subconscious and almost all of them because of how society sees males versus females and how it deems we should both act in any given situation in order to be perceived as 'normal'.

  48.  @robf4512  In the US you are also paying for hospital care whether you need it or not, except you do it twice - once for your personal insurance and once through taxes for medicare for others - thus it's an easily verifiable fact (you do have the internet, yes?) that Americans on average contribute more of their income to health care than Europeans. On top of that your primary insurer (yes, it's only an insurer) will have a long list of things that it won't cover, leaving you to foot the extra. No Brit has ever gone bankrupt from being ill.
