@ajgerbi No job offers healthcare, they offer health insurance. It is only once you are ill you find out exactly what your insurer is willing to cover and the hundreds of loopholes that allow said insurer to get out of them.

@sethralavode9012 No, people from third world countries go to the USA for free surgeries. The US lags behind most developed countries in Europe and Asia when it comes to healthcare from life expectancy to infant mortality, the US is the only developed country where medical negligence is one of the top three killers of inpatients. Paying 60 grand for a 3 grand surgery doesn't guarantee you better results, it just means you are being fleeced.

@robf4512 In the US you are also paying for hospital care whether you need it or not, except you do it twice - once for your personal insurance and once through taxes for medicare for others - thus it's an easily verifiable fact (you do have the internet, yes?) that Americans on average contribute more of their income to health care than Europeans. On top of that your primary insurer (yes, it's only an insurer) will have a long list of things that it won't cover, leaving you to foot the extra. No Brit has ever gone bankrupt from being ill.

@Channel-23s No, it takes weeks or months if you are happy to wait, if you want to be treated immediately you can walk into any private hospital and pay for treatment - whereby you will be treated quicker than in the US because unlike the US our private hospitals don't have several million patients, they only have a handful.
