I don't know how it is in the US but in most countries any mail from court or government must be handed over in person, you can't just put it in a mailbox or else the person you are delivering it too could just play dumb and say they never received it.

@cohenfromdiscord2551 Wrestling with a cop does justify lethal force though - when the cop has a hold of you then it means you are no longer fleeing, if you then continue the struggle that cop is well within his right to shoot you before you take his gun and use it against him. However in this instance it was the cop's partner who shot the criminal, but it should be equally justifiable since he has to protect his partner, himself and the public from a criminal that might get their hands on a cop's gun.

He doesn't need to physically grab any gun, once he was stopped from running away he should have accepted he wasn't going anywhere but instead he started wrestling with the cop and now both cops are fully justified in shooting him before he can take any of their weapons from them. It doesn't matter whether he actually attempts it or not, as soon as he started struggling with an armed cop he essentially killed himself because for that cop's partner it might have meant death for either of them if he hesitated in shooting, so he took the shot. Moral of the story is not to struggle with a cop, you can try to run away all you like but if they catch you and you continue to struggle then they have the right to turn your lights off before you can harm either of them.

Why do people in the US always have to bring the constitution into everything? Bond in the UK works in exactly the same way as the US and we don't even have a constitution, bail is just a deposit enticing people not to run, if you do run you lose your deposit when you're caught.
