You won't keep it unless you resort to using nukes because China's industrial capacity absolutely dwarfs that of the US and just like in WW2 the winning side will be the side that can replace ships, tanks, guns and people faster than the other side can destroy them. Of the 21 shipyards in China the three largest each has a capacity greater than all US yards combined. Admittedly the US has allies that can build ships but Donald Trump is working hard to drive them away.
