No rising nationalism and no killing each other every 20-30 years like we did for 3 millenia right up until 1945 when folks finally said "FFS, we need to be unified!" Good enough reason for me, my grandfather has more wisdom than anyone else I know and he thinks Brexit is an insult to everything his friends died for after the break up of the league of nations took him away from home and forced him to fight at the age of 16.

Shush, guys he's a brexit voter, logic and rational don't come easy to them.

Delusional!

Here here, I voted stay in 2015, but I wish I had hindsight, I considered myself British back then but now more and more I see British values mean trying to skuttle England by cutting off their nose to spite Europe and I don't want to be pulled down in their wake.

If anything petrol usage will rise and renewables will pause. The US is our biggest influence, even more so now that Washington knows that Brussels is out of the picture, soon Trump will be dictating to Theresa to push carbon seeing as he's pulling out all the stops to get coal and oil back on the dinner table and will be looking for buyers.

Pretty much :/

This generation and the last one were the most prosperous in those 900 years of warring, I'm not seeing your point. Surviving on the streets for 20 years is no reason to celebrate when your house burns down because being in that house was better than those 20 years likely were.

We will never join the Euro, that decision was settled a decade ago and immigration will hardly change, yeah the legal folks from Poland and Lithuania will be stopped from entering but the illegals turning up on boats in Kent don't really follow rules do they? And what incentive will France now have to keep the illegals away from buses and trains and boats now that Britain is no longer an equal partner in the EU? The flood of illegals is coming, well done Brexiteers!

We're gonna need fighting spirit, we have an enormous uphill battle to get anywhere close to the kind of trade deals we had before.

G Locc, spoken like a true dictator. Bring on that referendum, yaasssssss!

Hence Trump winning. It's funny that people see no good in the EU despite the past 70 years being the most peaceful 70 years of the past 3,000. The last time we saw such a rise in nationalism and the dismantling of such a large organisation (the League of Nations) it led to a war that saw the death of between 40-60 million people. I suppose right wing idiots will consider that figure much better than the handful that dies every year to radical terrorists.

The Walking Lead, because everything will become much more expensive until we have new trade deals (which won't even come close to the fantastic ones we had) and half of our number one industry, the banking sector, are looking to relocate to Berlin and Hong Kong so that will see god knows how many trillions of revenue taking out of the coffers over the next decade. At least we will now be able to fish again like Norway and use that fish to become global superpowers on the same level as Norway and Albania and other non-EU countries. In less than 80 years we have finally managed to remove Britain completely from the map of relevance.

A matter of time really.

When we went to war with England? No, we bankrupted ourselves and England offered to bail us out if we joined the Union, that was in 1707 and the last war with England ended about 390 years earlier. At least get your history in the right century, mate.

100 years from now What was the UK? Did they do something?

Well I can speak German and I'm hoping Nicki Sturgeon can at least get Brussels to offer Scots EU citizenship then I at least will have space in a lifeboat if the dunderheads down south really have just steered us towards an iceberg.
