It took two centuries and countless billions just to make the first route, may as well ask why there's not a Bridge going from Ireland to Britain to France.

There was a very bad sand storm with gail-force winds, when the storm subsided the captain found that the winds had blown the ship sideways and it was now stuck. Container Ships react very badly in strong winds because they have huge flat sides that act like sails.

It's both. Suppliers have fewer stock so demand allows them to raise prices, and when their new stock comes through they will likely pass any expenditure from lost trade on to customers for a while. Supply and demand is very fickle and people like Warren Buffet have probably made billions this weekend because of it.

Ever Given and it sails for the Evergreen line, the huge name on the side of a ship is always the company it works for, hence the 100 blue ships with Maersk written on the side. The name is written near the bow in much smaller letters.
