  2. I only take my seatbelt off if I need to leave the seat, otherwise it stays on. Better safe than sorry.

  4. Yeah, the not-so-sudden drop (6000ft in 3 mins is perfectly normal) was likely the pilots dropping to a lower altitude to get out of the turbulence. I read in a newspaper the actual turbulent drop from hitting a cold pocket of air was something like 80ft, which is why everything not strapped down hit the ceiling.
