Comments by "Rob Fraser" (@krashd) on "Legal in the US, But Illegal Elsewhere" video.
I once got the belt in primary school here in Scotland before it was made illegal, my mother didn't believe me when I told her, she just said "It's the 80's, teachers don't hit kids anymore." 😐

"You are wearing jeans!" "These old things? No, this is blue corduroy." "Levis of America.." "Who riveted that tag on there? That must be a prank."

@octolot2005 Is that why in American movies booze is often hidden in a brown paper bag when people drink it outside?

The irony is that only in the US can you be accused of stolen valour for wearing it, here in the UK you have to be actively pretending to be a veteran or wearing fake medals for someone to accuse you of stolen valour but I've seen videos in the US of people just wearing surplus military issue jackets - who in no way look like service members - getting harassed by "patriots" accusing them of stolen valour.

Isn't that the same as a lot of things though? Like entering with weapons or even food? It's more to do with import rules than legality I think.

There's a bit of a difference between preparing a country for a pretty difficult winter and plunging said country into the filth and disease of 1,000 years ago. You do know this is a left wing channel, right? You won't get many upvotes in here if that is what you were hoping for.

The irony being that those "many people" will be anti-abortion conservatives. "If it isn't born then how can I smack it every day until the age of 16?"

Chunder is correct, it is 'her suit', it's a mutation of 'hair suit', which itself was just the English translation of the Korean 'woo kiee'.

Perhaps if you had enforced it Jean Claude Van Damme might not have grown a mullet, did you ever think of that?

China does not make any illusion of democracy as very few Chinese people care about it, the quality of life for the vast majority of the Chinese has been on an upward trajectory for decades, if your life is getting better and better every year then why would you ever want to change your rulers? Also if all of your people believe in the same goal (through coercion or not) then you are a democracy that does not need elections - constantly requiring elections just means the last majority was wrong, and the majority before that, and the majority before that, and so on and so on. In a communist nation all people (or the vast majority) have a shared goal or vision and so they are the permanent majority and would never see the need for elections, in those countries if you don't like the direction of the country then it's seen as your problem because 70% or more do.
