The only gamma emitters are the actual reactor core and any large metal objects like vehicles which were either pushed in to the core before it was sealed or retired in large vehicle graveyards, these areas are all off limits because they can harm at a distance. Everything else though was blanketed in radioactive dust in the form of alpha and beta particles, these can't harm you unless you inhale or ingest them so as long as you don't kick any dust up in someone's face or try to eat any plants or animals you will be perfectly safe.
