Even if they offer 4 X the average EU trucker wage, which they wont, because they can't, where are the truckers gonna live while on a temporary visa ? In accommodation that costs them 6 X more than their accommodation in their homeland ?

LoLz about the rickshaws but more so now than ever Ireland is a colony of the UK. Try to buy a product anywhere in Ireland that hasnt been delivered by a British distribution centre or that isnt here under a territorial licencing sales agreement by a British corporation who bought those rights from an international conglomerate. Try to even find an alternative inferior product distributed from a mainland European corporation at the expense of & in competition with a British corporation. You wont find one. Im Irish, in Ireland & until we are producing hydrogen in our own production plants at individual county's levels then I most certainly won't be laughing at any country going through a fuel crisis, especially not a country who still has us in an economic, militaristic, political & cultural strangle hold.

Its almost as cost effective to do a degree at a college as it is to try to pay for training to become a Truck Driver in the UK. Then you get paid slightly over minimum wage once qualified.

Why are you telling them to do exactly what they have already done & are already doing ? Also, western civilization does not start & end with the Anglo American military alliance, more western countries than not have never invaded, colonized or interfered with the domestic running of an Asian country.

@ple1996 I don't believe it is a lesson The UK is strong enough intellectually, politically & militarily to be independent of the EU providing it has good realationship with its European neighbors. Not many of the 27 EU nations are as strong & influential internationally as the UK are today, maybe only France. So I don't think its a lesson to the rest of us, I think what we are seeing is a resurgence of contemptuous arrogance under the current British administration, similar to what happened in the USA under Trump. When all is said & done & the dust settles after a new administration has been voted in, Britain has proved itself to be a good neighbor & will be once again. The EU UK relationship will improve over the coming years, but maybe not under the current British Administration.
