Hail Odin.

You say people, but you mean suspects. Or are you talking about random crazies who phone up police & anonymously confess to random crimes? Richard Allen is known in the community, he held down a job & raised a family, he wasnt a looney. The only way that average sane people confess to crimes they didnt commit is due to duress or torture, Allen was subjected to neither. From where Im sitting, the reality of what he did to those girls hit him when he was stewing in prison/jail, he made multiple confessions & only after doing so & then realizing the long term consequences, he started acting crazy as a means to cover up or excuse his earlier confessions by making plenty more & hoping to muddy the waters at his trial. Praise Oden.

@therewasnocollision What you are describing is a question of due process, & the safety of holding a suspect in jail when they are accused of such a heinous crime, not torture & duress. I haven't read the defense motions, how did the judge rule on them? Seems strange that if the accused's rights to due process & his right not to be subjected to punishment outside the law were violated, that the case hasn't been thrown out for improper conduct by the prosecution & a civil rights uproar hasn't ensued.

@Rune789 Protect their family from what exactly? A confession has to match the evidence, he is correct about that.
