The question is, why doesn't he have KO power!? He trains everyday yet his punching technique remains crap, his set ups are non existent, singular jab with nothing behind it until he musters the courage to follow it with an ineffective right cross. Theres absolutely no reason he couldn't have polished his punching technique, his punching set ups & attacking tactics by now. He's lazy, entitled & has settled for what he has got, namely a system of fighting that gets him to the final bell. What you see is what you get from Strickland, & thats mostly a jab thats just a jab & a teep kick thats just a teep kick, backed up by good cardio & an ability not to get hit clean when in the pocket. I like Strickland, to a degree, but he has gone from being slightly underrated to being criminally overrated.

@bnegs521 He beat Allen when Allen was unranked & inexperienced in the UFC. KEep it real. Since then Allen has improved, Strickland hasn't. I'll be surprised if Costa doesn't finish him.

@bnegs521 The closest you have been to a gym is when you pass by one to go buy a pizza. Some people are faster than others, some are stronger, but speed & strength are skills, hence athletes improve their times as careers develop & strength athletes lift increasingly heavier weights as their careers develop. Skill is a matter of technique, not a matter of making excuses. Power by definition is a mixture of speed & strength, the rest is technique, tactics & set ups. Strickland is a lazy, entitled salesman. Everybody has the ability to improve.

@bnegs521 You've never even been in an argument, let along a fight, you dont even kno what an amateur sounds like, if you did you would realise that there are amateur boxers out there making over $100,000 per year on Gov funding & endorsements while training alongside pro's under top class pro coaches. They make more money today than all but the best pros made 25 yrs ago & they are better coached than 90% of them too. You aren't even a novice, let alone an amateur.

@sjones8772 Go on then, who has he hurt significantly, or what has he done with his strong hand jab? Typically, a fighter who jabs with his strong hand is one who is un-coachable, unless you are Cuban, they have trained batches of their fighters to tactically fight southpaw. Fighters like De La Hoya have done it because they have a wicked lead hook they set up behind it. Strickland has nothing behind his jab, its just a jab, nearest weapon to the nearest target & as such it is the weakest, most timid punch that can be thrown. As for his style, thanks for explaining it to me, seeing as I have fallen asleep through most of his dull boring fights n never realised whats up. Theres a reason why he is the UFCs only ex/champ with double digit prelim fights on his record. 😴 💤

@Gregoman89 He won a debatable decision in a close, relatively dull fight vs a champion who had his worst UFC performance. Then he lost that title in a debatable decision in what was a close, relatively dull fight vs a guy who is still relatively unknown. He is the EXACT same fighter who outpointed Jack Marshman in a dull fight on the Anderson Silva vs Uriah Hall Prelims, EXACT SAME technique, EXACT SAME tactics. ZERO upgrades, ZERO improvements & ZERO contradictions or counter points from you.

I think Costa has too much fire in him for the lazy Strickland. When push comes to shove Costa throws down, I cant see Strickland trying to meet him in the middle & go with him, he just doesnt have those gears.

@bnegs521 How does he manage to train everyday yet not improve, ANYTHING, not one iota!!? Think about it, that takes a level of commitment & stubborn dedication to remaining tactically & technically mediocre that has never been seen before, in ANY sport!

@sjones8772 You have been TOLD that his strikes are significant & now you are parroting what you have been TOLD, to me. Ive asked you for an example of this supposed significance & you have failed to deliver. Effectively, his style is that of a journeyman who has potential, theoretical potential, his record, mostly in prelim fights, tells no lies though, he has had his opportunity to make the step up to the next level, skillwise, & he added NOTHING to his skillset, unless you count those pathetic windmill arm punches vs Dricus as an addition?! Stricklands style is effective at getting him to the final bell n maybe winning a points decision. As a man that isn't a bad thing, but as a pro fighter among pro fighters, he is an also-ran. It wasn't his style, that got him a title shot, it wasn't who he beat either, a measly two fight win streak vs unranked guys nobody had heard off, it was his mouth & his ability to make schoolboys giggle on Twitter, with the stoopidity that he spews.

@terrycruise-zd5tw What are you talking about & why are you mentioning me? Curtis never fought Hermonson & why should I look to him for an example of anything? What has Curtis done to Strickland to prevent Strickland from improving his striking?

@remitto8367 It was still a good win for HIM tho. Beating any version of Gynosanya is an achievement for this crop of MWs. It wasnt a convincing win tho, too many people are attaching politics to it & as such are ridiculing their own politics, so I suppose I should shut up, sit back n point n laff at em ... Oooops!!
