  3. There's plenty at the oil trough for everybody. International cooperation in The South China Sea could be a boon to all economies in the region. Much more to gain through cooperation than war.. China could be cutting off it's nose to spite it's face. If they want to save face they should be more magnanimous than belligerent.

Cooperation and mutually beneficial relationships are productive while belligerence and bullying are counterproductive and needlessly costly in resources, manpower and capital.
