  1.  @tony9161  The Byzantines calling themselves Rome is like the U.S. falling apart into 50 different countries and Mexico calling itself the United States of America, 500 years from now. Mexico isn't the U.S. and the Byzantines were not Romans. But a nice try, nevertheless.

  2.  @tony9161  Oh, I'm not historically illiterate. The Greeks were NOT Romans. They did not have the same traditions, they did not have the same history, they did not have the same national character. The Greeks spoke a different language, hence me using Mexico as an example. The Romans would never consider a bunch of Greeks and Armenians to be TRUE Romans. Heck, they barely considered the other Italics to be Romans. So if you asked a Roman, if the Byzantines who didn't even speak Latin, if they were Romans, the Roman would laugh in your face. The same would go for Mexico, if it was conquered today by the U.S. and they called themselves the U.S. 500 years from now after original 50 English speaking States ceased to exist as a people.

Sorry, my last response was 2 weeks ago, I can't be bothered to make an effort to go debate with someone who goes MIA for that long and now I have to remember the entire conversation, you are not that important to me, for me to hang on that dearly to keep replying. If you had replied within 2 days, sure, but 2 weeks, means I've moved on to other topics.
