  1. I like the little bit about the Eagle, but I'm not sure it was because of the Iroquois that we have an eagle as our National Symbol. We are after all a nation built in the image of the Roman Republic. And it was the Roman Eagles that dominated the Western World, with the SPQR on the bottom. Senatus Populus Que Romanus. So I'd check into that one before we claim that the American Eagle is based on the culture of the Iroquois. :-)
