The true vulnerability of Russian tanks is not the tanks themselves but rather the lack of infantry support. As this is not an official war, the Russian army has not been conscripted into service. An Abram's Tank goes boom the same as a Russian Tank, if you don't have eyes on the outside. A tank can't go to the 5th floor of a building and kill the guy with a shoulder mounted Anti-Tank missile. A tank can't shoot the guy in a ditch waiting to attack your tank from underneath. A tank doesn't detect mines. A tank can't do spotting for you. Standard modern doctrine requires infantry to support for every tank. Without that infantry support, 'tank goes boom, tank does not go brrr.' WSJ is making silly assumptions without talking to a competent Army general. We have plenty of them here in the U.S. go pick their brain. Find out why the Russians have only tank crews but no infantry support forces.
