@arwing20 Since you're taking the accusatory tone, here's my answer. Pretty sure that's what Great Britain did before Japan did. Have you heard of the Great Bengal Famine of 1770. The English murdered 10 million people in 4 years or about 1/3rd of the population. How about the Opium Wars, where the English forced China to open their cities to having drugs sold to their citizens. The Japanese don't hold a candle to the English. And yes, Great Britain also built concentration camps before the Japanese and Germans did, the Germans didn't come up with the ideas, they just recycled successful policies of the English. The only difference is that the English didn't lose a war, so they were never punished for their Crimes Against Humanity.

@benm5913 The English certainly did not invent the modern concentration camps. But I never gave them credit for such. The Spanish general Wheyler gets that particular honor with his reconcentrado camps. As for the Bengal Famine, emptying every village's granary and forcing the locals to grow opium and tea, while only allowing minimal food to be grown was a guaranteed way of causing a famine, during any critical crop failure. Again, tread carefully with that bucket of whitewash.
