Texas wants to pass laws that would oppress the minority party. That would be like California passing a voting tax on all gun owners. Would Republican lawmakers show up to the legislature to legitimize such a clear violation of the Civil Liberties of their voters? Well, of course they wouldn't. And the Democrats are doing exactly the same thing they aren't going to legitimize Republican disenfranchisement of their constituents.

@Overkill_JD 1. ban 24-hour voting and drive-through voting 2. prohibit election officials from proactively sending out absentee ballot applications to voters who have not requested them 3. add new voter identification requirements for voting by mail 4. limit third-party ballot collection 5. limit what assistance can be provided to voters 6. expand the authority and autonomy of partisan (Republican) poll watchers What COVID voting? Do you know that STATE legislatures determine how many voting booths are allowed per voting district? That means that the Texas STATE legislature can decide that a black voting district gets to have ONE polling place and a white voting district gets to have a 1,000 of them. That's the level of shittiness that Republicans have been involved with. This is why you often see Black neighborhoods with voters standing in line around the block while white neighborhoods have instant voting. Allowing black districts to vote by mail and not forcing them to jump through hoops just to exercise their right to vote is a threat to Republican control, and now that they can't find the votes to keep winning they want to suppress the voting of the opposition. So what exactly did you want to talk about again?

@MrCharliebbarkin What exactly are you arguing for or against? Did you even understand what I wrote? Whose side am I taking? And finally, yes, I can compare the two like that. The 1st Amendment gives me the right to speak freely.

@WINNER Huh? What are you even talking about? What half baked qanon conspiracy are you babbling about?

@MrCharliebbarkin I was pointing out that any absurd reason can be given for restricting people's right to vote. I'm sorry that you didn't understand that and that I have to explain it to you, using small words. The two things that the Republicans got rid of, from the original law was 1. Prohibiting Sunday voting, it can now begin at 9 a.m. because black voters usually voted after going to church, so this would suppress them from doing so. 2. There is no provision making it easier to overturn an election. Because the Texas (Republican) State legislature wanted to grant themselves the right cancel and overturn any election result they didn't like. This is called a One Party System, they had it in the USSR and they currently use it in Iran and China and apparently Texas, too.

@stupidben999 Again, QAnon shit. The Democrats never supported Castro or Maduro. I'm sure you believe the government is spying on you, while you take a shit in the morning, the moon landing was a hoax and the earth really is flat and surrounded by an ice wall. (Now go take your meds.)

@WINNER Again, see my response to C Wong, you two probably belong to the same echo chamber on the same 2chan board, where you convince yourselves that the guy who lost by 7,000,000 votes, really won the election. I use my real name because I don't fear people knowing who I am. I don't post things that would make me look like you so I don't have to hide my identity, you clearly do.
