  1. I find Ukrainian claims on this land to be a bit ridiculous. Their control over the region lasted all of 23 years? From 1991-2014. The Crimea has been Russian real estate for most of modern history, when it was not a part of the Crimean Khanate. And while it would be expensive, isn't it possible for Russia to reroute the entire river or cut the Ukrainians off, much the way Ethiopia might do regarding the Blue Nile? So I find their behavior a bit perplexing as they are attempting to pick a fight with someone who can just cut off their water supply and then the Ukraine will become a desert.
