  2. I have a distinct feeling that it is one plate of eggs being cooked in the video because it is meant to be not for the kids but the man. It never occured to them that the cooking would be connected to the needs of the children. In taking care of himself he is taking care of them... but not directly. The actual care and feeding will still be up to the wife and mother.
