Some of the officers might have been complicit, some might have been inkompetent, some might have realised what was going on and how bad it was far too late, some were badly trained, some didn't have enough back-up, some did indeed confront the domestic terrorists. At least one killed a domestic terrorist. Mental healt - or rather the lack of it - is never an excuse, it is always part of a bigger picture. Being mentally ill doesn't make yiu a bad person, it doesn't make you a good person. It just makes you a mentally ill person - and depending on the mental illness and its severity that means something different in any given situation. Take care and have a lovely weekend!
