  7. Depends... Handwerker still can earn extremly well. But you are right, most people do prefer someone with Abitur. That said, the german school system (as well as the higher education system) allows for a lot of detours to reach your goal. Even getting into University or a University of applied science without an Abitur is getting easier. To people reading in the US I would recommend looking up the german duale system used in what we call Ausbildung (our system of trade scholl) - it is amazing!

  8.  @kyzmit8980  which is absurd. In Germany learning a trade means learning working in a company AND going to school twice a week - while being paid.

  10. Unless they can... but it is very little compared to the US. And itbis explicitly not for tuition. As Matthew said it is for housing and othet living expences. And you are not paying massive interests either. Tuition is, by the way, free in a lot of places in the EU even if you are not a citizen!
