  1.  @budlightninja4167  No. Wrong. You have absolutely no way to back this claim up. Familiarise yourself with the way countries like Finland, Norway, and Sweden approach parenting. Or Germany. Your assumption contradicts the lived and documented reality in all those countries who are all opposed to regressive, restrictive, authoritarian parenting.

  11.  @frahn1702  we don't know that. If he has a mental illness he might not have been able to 'chose'. Some mental illnesses impact your ability to control your behaviour. German law knows the concept of Steurungsfähigkeit for that very reason. The court has to establish that the person was able to control their actions well enough to assess a situation and control their actions.

There is a reason that I did not give a mental illness as an example but described the legal concept - it does apply not only in cases of mental illness but in general. It asks a medical professional if you, in the moments leading up to the act and during the act, had the capacity to understand and control your actions. It would aplly for example if you are very young, under extrem stress etc pp. The legal concept aknowledges that there are situations and conditions that dimisnish control. The boy in question would be never tried as an adult here in Germany, by the way. Legaly you are considered a minor up to the age of 21. If you are legaly of age (18) an expert will access how far you have progressed towards adulthood and advise the court. And a child under the age of 14 cannot be tried at all.
