Opinion pieces, especially when well argued, are one of the foundations of journalism - as the should be. Highlighting problems, providing context, planting yourself at the river of truth- that's the job of a journalist.

And humans do not need planes, trains etc pp to cross large distances; that's what we do as a species... slowly but steadily. And who says borders are far apart? Take a look at a map of what is now Germany pre Bismarck. Notice something?
