@iRosati it's a challenging read... but worth it. You might have to put it down for a bit because it does cut close to the bone more than once.

The cast... THE CAST!!!

Poor child... so many people refusing to make you their target audience. How dare they! Did you miss that this is based on a Blixen novela, by the way?

Fantasy. Trailer. A work of fiction depicted in a visual media. What exactly do you think story telling means?

@kenmcwilliams4691 with those attitudes you will not find a job in Denmark, nor friends. Whatever that person claims, Denmark is an open country that is indeed woke.

@mozgus8156 Mate... would I be okay with that? You are asking a person heavily into transformative works... so, yeah, probably. And as someone who gss a degree that covers literature and film I do understand that music has different functions in film. There is music that needs to 'make sense' to the characters - because it's played in their world. You have to establish what is common for them and mostly stick with that. That does not mean that the music has to be some kind of medieval whatnot - it just means that it has to be music their culture is able to produce using the instruments available. Doesn't matter if it is a version of Halo played on a lute. And there is music used to tell a story played for the audience watching the movie, for example the soundtrack of Gladiator. Do you think that the music used there is Roman? It isn't. Evfn if it were you wouldn't be able to read it in any way that would allow you to connect with it on a level sufficient enough to fullfil its purpose. Oh, and what medieval music are you asking them to aim for? From which place, which tradition, which century?

@alwaysknow3356 No. No remake. It's an adaption of the book.

@calm1047 oh, kiddo...

You okay?

@supernova7848 you what now? Mate...

Erm... is this movie asking us to believe that there are no space agencies outside of the US? That there are no places at all outside of the US? Or if there are non-US places outside of the US that no one communicates with them? Or is that just the Trailer asking me to believe that?

@2nd_Directorate no... not whoosh. Their point never lifted off.

@TiramisuDesu97 you feel very passionatly about works of fiction. That's okay. What is not okay is to fail to engage critical thought when engaging with it. You are making assumptions about what race needs to mean in a work of fiction- using racist parameters from put world. You claim to know what the author thinks - it is unlikely that you do. You fail to understand what an adaptation is meant to do, you fail to understand the function music has in film, you fail to understand that a trailer for a film works under rules differing from the actual film it is meant to advertise. You claim that there are unoriginal and unimaginative communities in America... when communities can not be such thing. The one limiting their imagination is you. The one restricting the originality of a transformative work of art is you. You do not understand what I have said because you are invested in a narrative that negates how art works - and denies people who you think of as 'other' worth.
