While this is true it is also true for others. We are talking about consenting adults who are not in a position of authority. It's not a parent having sex with their child. The genetics argument would then apply to people who, theoretically, could pass on genetics defects to offspring. And that would mean your argument is 'genetic testing before intercourse'. Contraception exists. People of the same gender have sex. People with genetic conditions that can be passed on still have a right to have sex.

Isn't the problem that he is wasting time on legislation while more pressing issues need to be worked on rather than this? Because regulating the sex lives of consenting adults where there is no power imbalance does strike me a bit odd. And before anyone asks: yes, I am aware that the probablity of gene defects is higher when cousins have kids. But sex is not the same as pregnancy and if you think people who have 'faulty genes' should not be you are advocating for eugenics. Besides: queer people exist. Tell me what the legal argument is for telling two male cousin not having sex when your argument rests on procreation.

@bingbongbang8895 I am not. I am from a country though that was very into eugenics. I literally live close to a place where people where murdered for having gene defects. Consenting adult seems to be the argument you struggle with.

@nelsonperez5289 I sound like someone with a degree in political sciences who lives close to a T4 Gedenkstätte. You all are literally using the argument that the consent if adults does not matter because potential offspring with generic defects is a horror beyond words.

 @CH-ut7gk do you have babies everytime you have sex? Contraception exists and sometimes cousins even have sex while being of the same gender.
