Unforeseen? No. Very much predicted.

Prise is meant to be political. It's the point of pride.
66
@WotsisFace your grasp on reality is slipping.
37
@Boyhowdy875 seriously?
25
@thedivinemrm5832 well said! Happy Pride!
25
Vielen Dank für Ihre harte Arbeit und Ihr Mitgefühl!
24
@Boyhowdy875 you just proved their point.
16
Exactly.
13
I am so sorry.
13
And appeal can be denied. That does not mean she did not have the right to ask for one.
11
@chatham43 you are soooo bad at this trolling business.
11
Oh, look.... it's a troll!
10
@Edward-cv2gw Why would they be excluded? Oh, wait... you are a three month old empty account.
10
@mikeserridge4547 she didn't simply ask. She made others ask and at first refused to accept No as an answer. She could have simply sat down and taken the course together with others. She insisted on taking it solo - that means she did ask for preferential treatment and made civil servants do it for her.

I live in a small, rural community (not in the UK admitedly) and we have far more refugees and asylum seekers than most larger towns in the UK. We are doing just fine.
8
@gwangjuboy1 no one is asking you to take in the whole world. Don't be absurd. And that's all? 600000? Including people who moved for work and who are desperatly needed in the UK? How many exactly do you think other countries (who are far smaller and have less resources than the UK) have taken in?
8
@ruthbashford3176 Don't be absurd.
8
@Worldscientist47 you mean because he is right? Ian made a point you do not like, one that makes you uncomfy so your reaction is to laugh? Maybe it is time for counseling?
7
@johnrussell3961 true - but the point still stands that they are not illegal and arriving by small boat is not either.
7
It's not fit for purpose.
7
This might sound strange but could you speak to his doctor and check if he is showing signs of dementia? I have noticed that anger is a reaction to the loss of control dementia sufferers experience but cannot quite put into words. Stay strong - and be careful.
7
People did. Her appeal was denied.
7
@Boyhowdy875 you okay?
7
@zippymufo9765 and your source for that claim is?
7
No, she tried to grt out of paying fines by taking an additional driving course (arrangements especially for her). She instructed her staff to put pressure on the people in charge after she was told that that was not possible - only after that she took the points.
6
@harrynewman211 sending you love and strength! And eff the Tories. And the Terfs.
6
Perception of colour and people of colour does though. People and cultures have ideas about who they think more likely to commit crimes.
6
@tenniskinsella7768 that so? You had us fooled.
6
That person is not fit to be a teacher. He isn't fit to be in any profession where he is in contact with people and/or holds power over them. I do question his insight into christianity too.
6
And to you!
6
@ravd8082 seriously, are you okay?
6
Now, that is strange. The court in my (admitedly not british) hometown went out of their way to make sure that children who have to visit the court building are safe in rooms brightly painted, stocken with toys, books, and attended to by trained staff... and that's just for the few hours they have to be there. The argument was that the state has a duty of care towards children.
5
@futon2345 projection?
5
@2msvalkyrie529 Oh, kiddo... alles okay bei Ihnen?
5
The rumour that she is another of his kids? Would you want to have Johnson as a father?
5
@Darkangel-hy8ev which is due to whose policies? Who is not taking care of them although they have the duty and the resources? The Tories.
5
@MS-ub7un they made a valid observation - one backed up by data, by rhe way. You are the one who is taking it personal.
5
@Teddokrato why are you moving goalpost? Seekingnasylum and a spouse moving to joyn their partner is not the same. You could, of course, point out that the legal restrictions on both are unacceptable and it should be easier for spouses to move... but hey, compassion seems to elude you.
5
People often do. Especially in therapy. That does not prove guilt or innocence but gives context together with other pieces of evidence.
5
@SuperKiao What? No. Don't be dense.
5
@chrisjones8379 There is very little real reason to suspect that she is not guilty. And absolutly no reason for people to pursue this in this way.
5
@andrewtorrens947 Eh?
4
@PatriotPaul16 they are sacken why? How? What is your source for that? Do you think no staff is needed in a hotel which has people living in it? And if they are indeed fired whose fault is that? Oh, wait... not the fault of the person seeking asylum.
4
@neilrafferty2097 2 million times of getting it wrong, Neil? Why tell us though?
4
@harrynewman211 Congratulations to starting your transition! I do hope everything goes well for you!
4
@harrynewman211 Take heart. My mum's friend transitioned in her 70s. She was a very very public figure in our town and transitioning in private was not possible. It took so much courage and we are so proud of her. Terfs and other haters are the minority in places like the UK, Germany, even the US. Hopefully gender affirming care will become more easily available if we stand together and firmly state that trans-health is not up for debate. Hope you are having a nice, peaceful, and joyful weekend!
4
What the heck is a biological woman? Advanced biology goes 'sort of' when it comes to female/male and very much does not use woman. Trans-women are women; trans-men are men. Trans people are no threat to 'women-only' spaces.
4
@jimmagspanton669 I do know how to do the math. I also know how to check what funding is spent on and which funds are needed. And at least try to spell properly, please. Oh, and mate? I have a friggin degree in two fields relevant here - I most certainly understood that message and its intent.
4
@ArtyFactual_Intelligence he can try... 😉
4
Did he at one point realise that the person who interviewed it had the paper right in front of him? Did it sink in when he asked him to tell him in which line the name was? What did he think the rustling paper was that could be clearly heard?
