  2. 'Having their nils done, having their lashes done'... you mean as women in the 60s, 70s, 80s did? Frequent trips to the hairdresser were standard for previous generations. Spending money on performing femininity was standard. Is he seriously pretending that the women in his life never had their hair done, never bought make-up (and remember slapping on make-up was and is required in quite a lot of professional settings)? Is he forgetting that going to the barber was standard for previous generations of men?
