@ernstthalmann4306 Ceausescu enforced a decree in Romania that banned abortion completetly because he believed that Romania needed more children. Decree 770 led to women dying from mismanaged abortions and non viable pregnancies. It led to children being abandoned because parents could not cope and there was next to no support especially when the children were disabled. Ceaseacu pushed for the idea that the 'Children of the decree' were special and the future of Romania but failed them utterly. The Generation born after the total abortion ban was the Generation who rose up against him and killed him and his wife. The documantary 'Children of the decree' makes the argument that there is a connection to be made.

It is the body of the pregnant person that keeps the fetus alive. Medicine therefore says it is a parasite. You do not have to carry something that impacts that heavily on your health and life because someone else has made the choice to do so for themselves.
