  15.  @user-kw5ze5ky5q  that happend a lot with german immigrants to the US... especially if they migrated at around the time of the first WW. A lot of activly lived german culture vanished. On top of that migrants, who are being told constantly that integrating means giving up their cultural heritage -, unless it's easily consumable (like food, drink, music), put their past aside to fit in. If you know where your granddad was from you might be able to contact the local church or a Verein (look for Gesangsverein, Freiwillige Feuerwehr stuft like that)... they might have records or pictures. If you are lucky there might even be a Heimatverein that can give you an idea what living in his hometown/village might have been like. It will not be able to replace his own stories told in his own voice... but might help you to connect to your heritage in a new way.

  49.  @arnodobler1096  Leider laufen sie mir Montags immer über den Weg, weil sie eine Schleife in der Innenstadt drehen. Und selbst wenn ich sie nicht sehe, höre ich sie weil sie Lautsprecher mitnehmen. So laut 🤢. Heute hab' ich noch einen Querdenker getroffen... der an einer örtlichen Schule unterrichtet. Ich hätte das Kind am liebsten unter den Arm geklemmt und wäre gerannt. Wenigstens hatte ich danach mit dem Küken Spaß und konnte auch noch den Hund kuscheln. Genieß' Deinen Feierabend!
