@premegst in short... they don't. You do not do that of you are that deep into a cult. Believing one article of doctrine one day and one that states the complete opposite the next is proof of the depth of conviction. It is not what you believe that matters but that you are willing to sacrifice everything to holding a beliefe. Top that off with the sheer terror of facing up to what you have done once you question the cult.... so people go on justifying what they have done to protect themselves.
