  2. They are conviced they are heros. And to people like them heroism needs to be observed to be worth something. The heroic act to them is unimportant - its the admiration that counts. Which of course means they are no heroes at all ... just cosplaying Wannabees devoted to worship at the altar of a proto-fascist.
