  4. Erm... dude? When women got the vote in the US Wilson was the President. Wilson, as in a Democrat. And it was women who fought and won suffrage, not the Republican Party. Even if the two parties had not switched policies in the wake of the civil rights movement you would be wrong. The GOP of today is not a GOP even remotely equivalent to the GOP then.
