@daniellingenfelter7886 oh, god... I feel so sorry for them. Germany is a great place to live and I am sure once they experienced what life in Germany and most of the EU is like they would absolutly love it.

Having worked at a european airport for ages that is something that I have noticed. I was always happy for american passengers dipping their toes into the great big outdoors outside of the US but sad as well because they had so little time to explore. Quite often they seemed to travel with a little mental bubble around them as well that kept them from connecting with the places they were traveling to. Canadians were very different.

@MagaMonkeysMovetoRussia not really. Prices are high in Germany and the taxes go not towards healtcare but into developing green energy infrastructure. Our goverment has lowered what they take out of the price to lessen the burden on drivers. Guess what happend? The companies running filling stations here raised prices before the date the goverment's plan was implemented and then hardly lowered them. They are now in deep poop with everyone. So a lot of it is gas companies making extra profits and not taxes. Thankfully for the next 3 monthes everyone can buy a monthly ticket valid on most of public transport for 9€.

@erics607 that's one of the things that need to change in the US, paid time off. No more limits on sick days either. Paid sich leave is needed too. I hope people will realise that those are good things.

@chrisharris1522 yeah... claiming that petrol taxes fund healtcare everywhere else is... nope. Healtcare isn't even tax-funded in a lot of places (like Germany).

@sandyjohnson5111 the list of things that are alledgedly so very bad in Germany are just poop, to put it mildly. And the one about paying 800€ monthly for health insurance on a middle class income is a plane lie - even with private insurance.

@sudazima Food in Germany is very very very cheap- especially compared with countries where the average income is much lower.
