There is no age given for Mary in the bible. There is no reason to suspect she was a child or even a young teenager either. People who claim she was are suspect. Crucialy in the text, and something ommited often, is that God asks Mary for her consent. That means that God is ready to accept her saying No. Something that should be brought up regularily with fundamental Christians.

@Linguae_Music People claim it does say that quite often (especially in conservative, evangelical circles) while all it says is that she was not yet married. There is no no reason to assume that Joseph was much older than her either.

@Linguae_Music No. There is no age. Just that she was old enough to be married without it being commented on negativly. And a child marrying and being pregnant immediatly would have been commented on negativly. The assumptions with regard to marriagable age in that time (and the middle aged, and the victorian age...) are not based in fact. People like Matt Walsh love to pretend that girls were married very young while scholars say the opposite. It makes no sense from God's position either. Asking for consent when knowing that consent cannot be given goes against how God works in the OT.
