Not being from the US I had to pull up a map... and than simply stared at it for a bit... Is Alabama taking in significant numbers pf refugees and asylum seekers that she would have an immediate interest? And if so what are her policies within Alabama to help refugees and asylum seekers? Oh, wait... 😂

Evangelical women in the US (and she seems to be one) are taught to 'keep sweet'. That means smiling even when other emotions well up, being meek, being accomodating, speaking softly (which explains the whispering), speaking in a 'feminin' manner (hence the pitched voice and giggling)... 'Keeping sweet' is very much a burden put onto women, do not get me wrong, but what she is doing here is signaling 'I am not a threat to male voters and you can safely tell your wifes to vote for me because I am not like those women (outside of the evangelical social context)'. I do suspect that that evangelicals do not see the smile as anything else but an affirmation that she might be talking about politics but is doing it within the parameters set for a 'christian woman'. The smiley has nothing to do with what she is saying but is the pass for being allowed to say something.

Why is a senator from Alabama going to the border with Mexico? Alabama does not border Mexico, does it? Just looked and it boders the gulf of Mexico... does that mean she was standing on a beach in Alabama because people are arriving by boat? How is 'going to the border' part of her job as a Senator?

'I spoke to a woman'... her explanation makes no sense.
