  2. ​ @kc4cvh  Malthus observed what? He was in no position to observe millions. He lacked the methodilogy to do so... and the numbers. The UK (without Ireland) had around 11 million inhabitants. London was crowded but that does not mean that the island itself was. Artificial fertilizer was developed in 1840 (thank you, Liebig) and that alone upset all of Malthus' assumptions.
