If he made use of the ferry/cruise ship exemption for ports he would have had to arrive by boat and LEAVE by boat. That means 40 hours to St. Petersburg and 40 hours back to spend a max of 72h... and they went to a Casino? What?
6
@aliamjon2550 Google is your friend. Gambling is indeed restricted. There are places that have the name Casino in them - doesn't mean that they are Casinos in the american sense.
4
That would have meant getting a visa. A yacht is neither a ferry nor a cruise ship. So no 72h exemption for arriving and leaving on one. His story makes no sense.
4
@matthewv789 maybe... It is sketchy as hell. And it would have looked sketchy as hell in the moment. One thing that speaks against the Yacht-idea is that those to tend not to be wheelchair friendly. Even the large ones. I really really want to know what happend!
3
And if his story is true that he went by ferry... that means arround 40 h each way... because you have to go by boat each way unless you have a visa. And you can stay 72 h tops. While he is in constant pain, still healing...
2
@mrfunnylookinhayes9088 exactly! I've had plenty of people fly with various types of mobility aids... Has he forgotten that people fly to compet in the Paralympics?
2
@waterfrodo4304 in and out by boat - that much is true. So a combined time spent on a ferry of roughly 80 hours. To spend max 72 h in St. Petersburg. Right.
2
@waterfrodo4304 maybe... but how do you forgett that? It is a whole ass different country from Sweden and Norway with a distinctly different language? And he must have gone through Finland twice ad you have to leave St Petersburg by ferry if you arrived by ferry. That said... he is a bit uuuhhhh slow on the uptake.
2
@KarEEm-zy5ry you spotted that? Well done.
2
🤔😐😑😮 🙃 He is... not really self aware, is he now?
2
Filmed in black and white. Early 1980s. Footage lost because the producer spent all the money to pay the printers on china white.
2
You can go on a boat from Norway to Russia... but why would you do that? You can simply walk or bike over? Helsinki is indeed how you would go.
1
@Steponlyone but that would be even trickier... because he then did most definitly gamble in a place where gambling is illegal.
1
@Steponlyone and I want to know where he went sooooo soooo much. I am not like that.
1
@waterfrodo4304 Yeah. He lies a lot for someone who is poop at it.
1
@joestrat2723 there are exemptions when you arrive and leave by ferry or cruise ship. You can stay for 72 hours tops. BUT you have to leave the way you came. He is saying he spend over 70 hours on a ferry to spend 72 hours in Russia?
1
She didn't - it was closer to 8 monthes.
1
But there is no ferry that goes the way he said he went.
1
@lillic8522 I know that you can go to Helsinki from Sweden, and then on. And I know how time consuming that would be. And doing that in a wheelchair, while being in pain? I so want to ask him what his cabin looked like? How helpful the ferry staff was, if they spoke english (we both know the answers would be very and yes). The way he tells the story is off.
1
@stevemcgowen that is incorrect. Common misconception, still incorrect.
1
@gobbygoo3981 thanks to science he probably could. But the process might not be covered by insurance.
1
Gambling allowed in just a few places in Russia. There are Casinos in St. Petersburg... but does Casino mean the same as it would in the US just becauseit says Casino over the front door?
1
That!
1
But how do you mix up Finland with Sweden and Norway?
1
@kangkim150 Exactly!
1
Folks... as someone else pointed out: where did he get his visa and when? You can get one at a russian embassy or consulat - but only well in advance. There are non available on arrival. Well in advance means that they couldn't have gotten it by simply dropping in at an embassy or consulat and leaving shortly thereafter. What the hell is MC talking about?
1
@aliamjon2550 besides the point. Move on, there's a good boy.
1
He is not a veteran.
1
@FloridaJack No problem! He even lied about the car crash that put him in the wheelchair, blaming the friend who effectivly saved his life.
