He didn't havw the votes beeded and only became Reichskanzler because others (for example the Centrums Partei) ignored the warnings of the Kommunisten and the SPD and made him so with their votes. The electorate did not vote AH into power.

My relative hid in ditches to hide from the Nazis who took issue with him standing up to them publicly - as one of the leading politicians in his area he made his voice heard. According to you he was not part of the country.
