  4. Conservatives in the US often see their kids as possession - they object when others use what they think of as theirs. To them the violation is commited against the parent, not to much against the child. They think of something like this in the same way they they think of property theft/trespassing. To conservative kids as not people... and that's why conservative family values are so out of whack.
