Well.... 🤔 If You could consider the confined space of Pearl Harbor? The oil contamination 🛢️ would take a long time to dilute. Unlike the open ocean. And there was very little equipment at the time to deal with oil spills. I imagine there must have been an effect on marine life and birds for quite some time.
