  4. That's not necessarily accurate. Coastal artillery would have been backed up by anti-aircraft defenses. As well as interceptor forces...

  5.  @kemarisite  Air attacks with dumb bombs have accuracy issues. As demonstrated at Normandy. Open or not. The guns survived.

  6. Same way other guns are. You have mechanical weapons elevators that bring up shells from the magazines. The rest is manpower.
