  1. As a general rule of thumb? Submarines are given assigned patrol areas. Thus one submarine is in one box in the chart. Only that submarine is to be there. Assume everything else is enemy....

  5.  @csours  those are vent holes for the ballast tanks. All submarines have them. Top and bottom. Just fewer of them now.

  8.  @ArcticTemper  Hull design is always an evolving process. There are also design trends of the time. If you look at designs from dreadnought in 1906 to vanguard 50 years later; there are great deal of changes and lessons learned.
