@lloydknighten5071 Bismarck had no torpedos.

@thearisen7301 Less love from whom?

@onejokeman2002 Your getting silly.....😏

@Kabayoth The addition of one troopship does not change things. The UK is full of troops by 1944. To move the date other factors would need to be in place.

@Vespuchian Taiwan's Navy has a sub pushing 75 years of use.

@Ataximander The nuclear tests are likely the best guide for those effects.
1
@notknightbean Your stretching theoretical to real as far as it goes. There is a human element that makes all such questions no better than using a magic 8 ball. What is a "stupidly long ship?"
1
@Ushio01 All of those ASW weapons are forward mounted.
1
@jeffrey8847 The answer is simple, no. Cargo subs lack volume needed to replace real ships.

@EdAtoZ Explain what your asking? The planes are a utility item.
1
@EdAtoZ Exactly. You sum up their pros & cons and uses okay. Result? They are not a big plus or minus to the ships in actual action. Radar kinda filled the targeting role. And ground spotters could do the job inland.

@Kabayoth Manpower does not give you better weather. Better tides. Better air superiority. Solves the logistics or clears a beach obstacle. Adding another division of troops if anything would be sent to Italy. Not sitting in reserve in a already crowded UK.

@kierenheinz7880 Ask the Greeks. They would say it was cheap and most modern of options available.
1
@Kabayoth Your premise is a invasion based solely on manpower numbers. The problem is, your stacking up this huge ground force with no place to go. Having the Normandie takes you from point A to point B. Point C is France. Until 99 other conditions are met is a invasion possible. There is more to the operation than boots on the beaches. Trying this in 1942 or 1943 would have made Stalin happy. But would likely be a bigger Dieppe disaster.

@ariancontreras4358 Why should they? The 5 inch had been standardized. Your adding to a crowded logistics system without a real upside.

You heat it. Heat it high enough, It becomes workable.
