  5.  @bkjeong4302  I think people have to put some context into this? Preservation of even places like the Camp Valley Forge was not a particularly popular thing. In fact, it's it's smack-dab next to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and one of the largest shopping malls in America. And other than the USS Constitution, ship preservation had not been a high priority. Also, frankly aircraft carriers are rather huge items.

  9. Attacking Malta is rather pointless. As MacArthur proved in the Pacific, isolation and island-hopping of strong points is the better option. Malta is meaningless without supply.

  19.  @johnshepherd8687  they never got the chance either way. And speed is a blessing and curse. Speed allows you to Transit to your hunting point more quickly. Speed also makes noise. And noise gets submarines killed.

  20.  @johnshepherd8687  Already familiar with the type 21 and snorkels. And Hydrophones would pick up the noise made. And running a snorkel still can throw sea spray wakes that are visible. As well as reflect radar. Point is, they never got into serious use till the end of the war.
