@andykmn You're setting up a Naval Version of Market Garden. A invasion is not supportable. You have the entire 25th Infantry division, Plus USMC units in Oahu. Not to mention civilians. Your supply line from Japan is too far to support Hawaii.

@kemarisite Can you support the twin engine comment? I'm not sure it holds up statistically. Engine technology of today has moved beyond first generation issues.

@GaldirEonai The limit is set by things like depth of ports. Size of docks, cranes, drydocks, bridges etc.

@veneraalabaster540 Not really. The deck elevators still have to send planes to the hangar. Then refueled, armed and move aft to launch.

@bakomusha Same reasons we seem to consider China to be a threat. The UK was natural economic, political and military rival. The fact we have stayed chums since 1812 is a bit of luck. We were friends of Japan in 1922 too.
