@Cbabilon675 again to what end? It's still 8:00 on a Sunday morning. You're not likely to get much more of a faster response. Nor do they have any idea where to look? There's also the command structure problem. The Navy is not exactly talking to the Army and vice versa. And nobody due to the communication problem is talking to Washington.

@themightynanto3158 simple answer is basically every time ship sank there was an oil spill. Most of them due to the small size of vessels of the time, limited the environmental impact.

@Someone-wj1lf you still had working us surface forces such as the two carrier groups at sea. In fact Enterprise arrives late on 7th and loses several aircraft to friendly fire and some to enemy aircraft. They were also coastal defense installations. The submarine Force and destroyer and cruisers were also largely intact. It was also a small detachment of PT votes available. There's nothing really to be gained by exposing surface ships. This kind of goes down the rabbit hole of actually invading Oahu which makes no sense.
