  2. Logistically, all those ships use a ton of fuel. And you don't have supporting Oilers to go with them.

  3.  @marting1056  But you are going to need an oiler if you are going to do a big ship move. They don't even have destroyers to screen Bismarck and those other ships.

  5.  @LucioFercho  They never had regular dedicated Olier support of Task Forces. Refuel of a lone surface raider or U-Boat is not really the same thing. That oil supply is better spent on other things. So the Surface fleet spent most of the war, not at sea.
