The subs and Destroyers can still put to sea. Also a few hours away is USS Enterprise and her Task Group. While your ships may have air cover with 6 CV's. 4 to 5 missions in a day is taxing them and the planes.

  4.  @kellybreen5526  Perhaps Nagumo had worry about the missing carriers at Pearl? His Intel could not say where Enterprise or Lexington had gone. Nor when due to return? What it they jumped him just as his strike planes were low on fuel? He had no post strike photo recon to judge the damage reported by the pilots. Pearl Harbor was a huge gamble. It paid off well.
